It does not host government records and is not affiliated with an office, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages and anything reached through them only for lawful purposes. You may not use them to:

  • Commit fraud, identity theft, impersonation, or another crime
  • Make decisions regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, housing, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, reproduce, or republish the pages at scale
  • Attack, disrupt, or bypass the security of the service

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. The pages and results from a linked search tool are not consumer reports. They may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Linked Services

County portals, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and sponsored search providers publish their own terms and privacy notices. Palo Alto Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, pricing, results, or data practices.

5. No Promise of Accuracy

The reference is provided as available and without warranties. No promise is made that a page, fee, coverage year, link, or search result is accurate, complete, current, or continuously available. Verify records with the custodian before relying on them.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this reference or any linked resource, including a decision based on a record found through it.

7. Your Responsibility

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the pages or violation of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, logo, design, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief, attributed excerpt is welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted.

9. Changes

Updated terms take effect when posted here. Continuing to use the reference after a revision indicates acceptance of the new version.

10. Access Restrictions

The operators may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms, abuses the service, or threatens its operation. That action may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record references concern the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 et seq., while California consumer-privacy references concern the Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
